Traveling from the United States? No passport needed!

Since Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, American citizens and permanent residents can travel to the island passport free. All you need is a valid ID such as a driver's license, state ID card, or an original birth certificate.

Traveling Internationally?

Foreigners visiting Puerto Rico are subject to the same U.S. immigration rules and laws, so be sure to comply with immigration and visa requirements.
